Attorney Michele Randazzo will preside over the Administrative Agency Action and Judicial Review

On Tuesday, November 13, 2018 Attorney Michele Randazzo will preside over the Administrative Agency Action and Judicial Review: Nuts and Bolts, Practice Pointers and Recent Developments.  

This program features an expert panel of lawyers with experience in all aspects of Massachusetts administrative law. Additional panel members are Hon. Sookyoung Shin, Appeals Court; Hon. Douglas H. Wilkins, Superior Court; Timothy Casey, Assistant Attorney General, Government Bureau; Brian J. Harkins, Senior Reference Attorney, Social Law Library; and Robert Quinan, Deputy Division Chief, Administrative Law Division, Office of the Attorney General.

Topics to be covered include:

  • Nuts and Bolts survey of the applicable law, procedural considerations and scope of review of adjudicatory proceedings before the Superior Court (under the State Administrative Procedure Acct, Chapter 30A, and the Certiorari statute, Chapter 249, Sec. 4)
  • The panelists will provide useful practice notes on select statutes and types of cases that proceed directly to the appellate courts.
  • Hot topics and emerging issues will also be presented, including discussion of important recent cases such as Frawley v. Police Commissioner of Cambridge, 473 Mass. 716 (2016) and Carey v. Commissioner of Corrections, 479 Mass. 367 (2018).
  • Tips on researching regulatory history and finding administrative decisions and guidances.
