Attorney Lauren F. Goldberg, the Managing Attorney of KP Law, participated as a panelist in a training session at the Massachusetts Selectmen’s Association Fall Conference concerning social media, the Open Meeting Law, the Conflict of Interest Law and related topics. The training session included a panel presentation entitled, “Twitter, and Facebook, and Insta – Oh My! Being Cautious with Social Platforms and Municipal Rules/Regulations”. The session, hosted by the Massachusetts Municipal Association, was held at the Devens Common Center, and was well attended by Selectmen from around the state. The featured speakers included Attorney Goldberg speaking about legal and practical issues with social media for both municipalities and individual elected officials, and MMA Associate Editor Dann DeMaina, speaking about the different uses of social media and the role of social media in constituent communications generally and particularly during public safety emergencies.
